Good idea for lit review

Hey guys...

I was reading Writing the Winning Thesis or Dissertation and it had great tips when looking for literature on your topic. I really liked the section on how to organize all the articles and books (pp. 31-38), which will be many after so many weeks. A simple number code will help you weed through the literature: #1 "must-have, #2 "maybe", #3 "no" as to how useful that information is going to be.

I've started a big binder with all the articles that I've found information that was useful. I've coded them by number and they are separated under different tabs. This has helped me to stay organized with all my collecting and reading. When it comes time to write, hopefully I'll know where everything is.

  1. I started saving some of my articles towards the end of the fall term but I think I need to reorganize them according to this paper's topic. Some times the simplest ideas allude us. Numbering the articles, who'd of thought. Maybe a brief index with why you think you might need it or a specific quote you want to use could save time later too.

  3. Heidi, I have found this to be very helpful. Also, as I read various articles I do highlight protential quotes that may support my topic(s).

  5. I'm not sure how to link the word document, I was asking Kristina about that last night. I went to the library last night, ughhh. I'm kinda stuck on my 3 areas. I'm reading journal after journal to come up with ideas, but my initial thought is.
    1. Home-School communication
    2. Parent Involvement
    3. Teacher attitudes of low socio economic parents

I need your email, mine is scott.neuscheler@sbcusd.com.

We need to bounce ideas off of each other. I'm quitely freaking out right now.
